We met in 2022 - and stumbled upon an other-worldly musical chemistry. Each inspired the other to play in a way we never had before. It was, and still is, a constant source of joy and amazement to us. We continue to make music together to honour this dynamic, and because frankly, we can’t live without it.

You might call us psych-garage punk (we dunno), but importantly, we don’t shy away from a beautiful melody, which is something too many bands do these days. It’s an odd fashion. We feel that without the melody, you’ve lost all the art, and it’s just a bunch of kids with haircuts having a noisy workout - and charging you to watch.

Marlo’s natural ear for a banger makes sense of Jack’s broody songwriting and writhing performance. Tom’s punk-punk appeal injects it all with an unignorable urgency, and Dan’s unforgiving drumming drives it all to a crashing and maddening catharsis. One way or another, each song is a journey from the sensitive to the exasperated and insane.

We play regularly at the Old Dispensary, but we’ve played everywhere from coffee shops in Fulham to supporting Carl Barat at Amersham Arms and Republica at the O2 Academy.

And we’re not slowing down, from now on, you’ll see a single every couple of months from us, with as many music videos and gigs as we can manage. Our first vinyl, Falling for You / Peace of Mind, will be released by No Distance Records on May 17th. It will be sold in Rough Trade, and many more independent record shops around London. We have a tour of South East England in June to support the release, and are playing our first festival in Manchester on July 26th.

“A group that merges classic indie with a rougher, gobbier, sex pistols punk spirit…produced to perfection… it bursts into roaring life” - Lucy Harbron, Far Out Magazine

Last summer Sweet Unrest unveiled their debut 4 track EP. Recorded with Grace Banks, who previously worked with Black Midi, The Charlatans, Dream Wife, The Kooks, Jake Bugg, Sports Team, Billie Eilish, Stormzy and many more. This self titled EP is a fit of energy wrapped in sweeping distant tones, flitting between poetic and dark to the cheeky and the brash. Grunge and Britpop influences can be heard throughout, brought together with a dash of Punk for good measure.

If spring was a song, Peace of Mind would be it. The first of 6 singles for 2024 release, this anthemic indie banger combines all the best of the band's talents, leaving you feeling nostalgic for a life you never lived, and longing for one we'd all like. A melodic opening riff starts the track, easing you into the distorted guitars and double time beat to come, building the intensity and emotion until the very end. Accompanied by a music video captures the band's playful spirit.

The latest single 'Years ago' is also accompanied by a dramatic night-time performance music video, filmed in the New Forest, capturing the song's energy and the ecstatic experience we share when we perform together.
